Food Is Not Your Enemy

About

I’m a holistic nutrition counselor–I work with women, men, teens, and kids to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun, and free of denial and discipline. No one diet works for everyone. I guide my clients, in sessions that can take place either in person or over the phone, to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support them. I also help them to make gradual, lifelong changes to their habits. For more information or to set up a free one-hour consultation with me, visit my Web site, www.jenniferschonborn.com.

Here’s a video where I explain my program …

Hi Jennifer,
I’m a ship’s cook on a research ship,currently out of Taiwan.
I try to have healthy choices available and take there health seriously.
One of my shipmates surprised me when he told me he wanted to lose 30 pounds so he can start to use his wife’s exercise equipment that he can’t use because the equipment has a 300 pound weight limit.
He put himself on a diet void of white simple carbs for a start .But I think he eats way too much meat as a replacement. what can I suggest to him?
sincerely,
Jay Erickson

Hi Jay,
Cutting white simple carbs is a great start. I would need to speak with this man to really be able to offer advice–I’d need to know in detail what he eats and how much, and what his overall lifestyle looks like. My advice for clients differs depending on what their individual issues are. If he’s interested, he can set up a free one-hour consultation with me (via http://www.jenniferschonborn.com) that can be done over the phone (if that’s feasible for him while on the ship, I don’t know), and then I’d be able to give him a sense of how I could help him should he then decide to sign on to work with me. Changing diet is a process that takes some time and commitment, so throwing a bunch of generic advice out here isn’t going to be terribly helpful!
